After nearly two decades of supporting demanding work sites across Central Alberta, Orich Transport Inc. is expanding its service offering with the launch of a dedicated hydrovac excavation division.
Since 2007, Orich has built its reputation delivering dependable oilfield transportation, hauling, and logistics services in Central Alberta environments where safety, timing, and performance matter. The addition of hydrovac excavation is a natural extension of that work and allows Orich to support projects both above ground and below it with the same standards clients already trust.
Hydrovac excavation uses pressurized water and vacuum systems to safely and accurately expose underground infrastructure. This non-destructive method significantly reduces the risk of utility strikes, service interruptions, and costly repairs, making it an essential service for energy, municipal, construction, and utility projects.
“Hydrovac is a natural fit for the kind of work we’ve always done,” says Brent Orich, Owner of Orich Transport Inc. “We’ve spent years working on sites where safety, communication, and doing the job right the first time are critical. Bringing hydrovac into our service offering allows us to apply that same mindset to precision excavation.”
Built on Experience, Applied to Precision Excavation
While hydrovac is a new division for Orich, the foundation behind it is well established. The company’s experience operating in high-demand, safety-sensitive environments has shaped how the hydrovac division is structured with an emphasis on planning, job readiness, and clear communication.
Orich’s hydrovac services include:
- Utility daylighting and locates
- Potholing and verification digging
- Slot trenching
- Pole, sign, and pile holes
- Precision excavation around active services
- Fibre-optic trenching
- Winter services such as steam and thaw, ice flow removal, and culvert de-icing
- Hydrovac-supported pressure washing
- Each service is delivered with a focus on minimizing disruption, protecting existing infrastructure, and keeping projects moving forward safely.
A Scalable Approach Focused on Quality
Orich’s growing hydrovac division launches with two dedicated units, allowing the team to remain responsive while maintaining consistent service standards. This measured approach ensures each project receives hands-on attention and experienced oversight.
“We’re starting with the right equipment and the right people,” Brent Orich adds. “As demand grows, we’ll grow the division, but we’re not interested in scaling faster than we can maintain the level of service our clients expect.”
As the division expands, Orich plans to add capacity while preserving the processes and accountability that have defined the company for nearly 20 years.
